1960s Mesi Tapio Wirkkala Iittala Finland Highball Glasses set of 4

The Iittala Mesi highball glass, designed by Tapio Wirkkala in the 1960s, is a vintage glassware series notable for its vertical lines and textured bubble pattern. The renowned Finnish designer Tapio Wirkkala, one of Finland's most celebrated designers, a master of glassware, created the Mesi series during his long tenure with Iittala. The glasses were designed in 1968 and produced by Iittala from the 1960s, likely into the 1980s. The Mesi pattern features a unique visual effect with vertical lines and a distinctive textured band of bubbles encircling the base of the glass. The design is a classic example of Scandinavian mid-century modernism, celebrated for its simple elegance and natural influences.
