This piece is a beautifully framed crewel embroidery piece titled "Tree of Life," designed by Ellen Silver for Dimensions Crewel Kit #1200, released in 1981. The dimensions are 20 inches (50.8 cm) tall, 14 inches (35.6 cm) wide and 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) deep. The fabric and stitching are in impeccable condition for its age, with no staining or fraying of the embroidery thread and very little wear.
This popular vintage kit features a whimsical tree filled with various woodland creatures and insects, including an owl, raccoon, squirrel, frog, rabbit, and several birds and butterflies.
